‘Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”’
We have a growing number of children and babies at CCE who we are glad to have as part of our church family. We hope that our provision for children will help to point each one of them to Jesus.
On a Sunday morning children can expect…
To meet with our whole church family at the start of the service where there is often either a children’s slot or song before they leave to have their own teaching.
Babies and Toddlers
(0–3 years old)
are welcomed in our crèche area where there will be helpers to play with and to look after them. This leaves parents free to join in with the main service.
(Nursery – Year 2)
enjoy games and story time, learning simple truths from the bible in creative and fun ways. There will be activities to join in with and crafts to make and take home that will help them remember the truth they have learnt from God’s word.
(Year 3 – Year 5)
have their own group where they can think more about how the truths in the bible apply to their lives in school and at home.
(Year 6 and older)
will largely follow the same preaching series as the adults. Once a month they will stay in the service to hear the sermon and for the rest of the time they will meet for a Bible study with leaders to give them a chance to discuss the passage, as well as to help them apply biblical truths to their lives.
Our church family all meet together again after the end of the main service where we have a drink and biscuit together.
Visitors are always really welcome and children are free to join in with as much or as little as they feel comfortable. All those in our church who work with children are DBS checked and are trained in the work that they do. Contact us for more details of our work with children.
Where we meet
